Background

Sean's path to SSG Companies was built one skill at a time. He began his career in insurance, advising state and school employees on long-term care, cancer, heart attack, and stroke coverage. Sitting across the table from families as they weighed how to protect themselves grounded him in product fundamentals. It also showed him that every recommendation affects real people.

He then joined APS Payroll in Shreveport, where he mastered a comprehensive payroll platform, becoming fluent in the reports business owners rely on: payroll summaries, W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, and ACA filings. That experience gave him an inside view of how companies operate, which he now applies to SSG's business transition and wealth transfer planning. Next, at a national uniform company, he assessed each customer's worksite and operations, then matched their teams with garments built for the safety demands of each job, a needs-first approach he brings to every client today.

Sean was introduced to SSG by the Managing Partner of New York Life's Shreveport office. Working alongside John Griffin, he prepares life insurance illustrations, models scenarios in the firm's wealth transfer software, reviews estate planning documents, and builds custom spreadsheets to support each plan. His focus is clarity: he distills sophisticated strategies into presentations clients can easily understand, showing exactly what is recommended and why it serves their goals. His attention to detail drives him to refine every illustration until the client has the strongest possible design.

Outside the office, Sean has officiated sports for more than half his life. He started at 16 with Dixie Youth Baseball and local league soccer. Today he works NCAA Division II college football while pursuing the Division I level. This avocation has taught him humility, accountability, and the discipline of doing the next right thing, lessons he carries into his role every day.

Sean and his wife, Sarah, met at Northwestern State University, where they became college sweethearts. Today they are raising their children, Kenley and Grayson, in the Shreveport-Bossier City area. Nothing brings him more joy than watching them learn, laugh, and discover their passions. Sean is also a proud alumnus of Pi Kappa Phi's Beta Omicron chapter.
